§01 HERO · plant the promise, sort visitors into "join" vs "understand"

Good Choices, Already Made. You won't need to check again. Nothing here made it by accident.

We’re building the trust layer for commerce — starting with food. We do the work of checking what's in your food by understanding ingredients & matching them against the clean standard, questioning claims and deciding what deserves a place in your basket.

Building India’s first trust and science-backed commerce platform.

§02 THE TENSION · earn empathy, not trust. No CTA.

Turn any pack over. Now try to agree with it.

"No added sugar." "High protein." "Immunity boosting." Five claims, on five packs, that don't even agree with each other. No realistic amount of label-reading fixes that on a Tuesday evening with a cart to fill.

That shouldn't be your job. It's ours.

The Cleandot
One product. Multiple standards. We benchmark every product against trusted food safety standards from around the world.
§03 WHAT CLEAN MEANS · define the word, introduce the Dot

Clean isn't a feeling. It's a bar.

At Cleandot, "clean" means a product cleared a specific standard for its category, not a marketing word stuck on a label. A biscuit and a bottle of milk are checked for completely different things, because they carry completely different risks. When a product clears it, it gets the Dot.

§04 THE PROCESS · teaser for The Clean Standard, honest status per check

Five checks. One dot.

Every product has to earn its place. Three of these checks happen on every product today. Two we're still building, and we'd rather show you that than pretend otherwise.

01In place
We read the label.
Every ingredient, in order, including the ones hiding behind a code.
02In place
We check the claims.
"High protein" and "no added sugar" are held up against what's actually inside.
03In place
We taste and use it.
If we wouldn't put it in our own kitchen, it doesn't go on the shelf.
04Building
We verify the source.
Where it comes from, and whether the paperwork holds up.
05Building
We test in a lab.
Independent tests on real batches, starting with a first named cohort.
The full method, category by category, lives in The Clean Standard.

§05 PROOF · one real "why this qualifies" panel. Hardest-to-fake asset on the site.

Here's what "qualified" actually looks like.

Every product on Cleandot carries a panel like this. It says what we checked, what it doesn't contain, and exactly how confident we are. That last line is never skipped, even when the honest answer is "still verifying."

Most delivery apps earn from selling ad space to big brands. We don't. A product earns its place on Cleandot by meeting our standard, not by paying for it.

ABOUT §01 · large editorial opening. Why Cleandot had to exist.
A note from our founder

It started with a question in a living room.

Mrigank Upadhyay, Founder of Cleandot

Why isn't there one place where I don't have to do all the work myself?

I was sitting in my living room, talking to my closest cousin, who is deep into calisthenics, about the things we buy every day — food, ingredients, labels, brands — and how much effort it takes to know whether we're actually making a good choice.

Turn the pack around. Read the ingredients. Understand the claims. Compare brands. Use AI. Search something you don't recognise. Then do it all over again.

And I remember thinking:

Why can't someone just do this work for me?

Why can't there be one place where the products have already been looked at, questioned and understood — so that when I choose something, I can simply feel good about the decision?

That was the beginning of Cleandot.

Mrigank Upadhyay Founder, Cleandot
ABOUT §02 · why the founder cares, not a biography

For us, living well was never just an idea.

I come from a family of runners.

My father is an ultramarathoner. He has done several long-distance races, including a 100 km run carrying the Indian flag.

Growing up around that taught me something simple: how you live matters. What you eat matters. What you put into your body matters. And the small choices you make every day eventually become a way of life.

But knowing that and actually making good choices aren't always the same thing.

Even when you care, the modern grocery aisle can make you work for the answer.

We thought there should be a better way.

Mrigank and his father on a hillside
A long time before Cleandot.
ABOUT §03 · zoom out from the founder to commerce

Commerce has changed. The decision hasn't.

Over the last decade, commerce has solved some extraordinary problems.

More choice.
Better assortment.
Faster delivery.
Greater convenience.

In many ways, buying something has never been easier.

But one problem remains largely ours to solve:

Can I trust what I'm buying?

We still have to read the label. Interpret the claim. Compare the alternatives. Figure out what's actually inside.

We believe commerce shouldn't just make products easier to buy.

It should make good decisions easier to make.

That's the problem Cleandot exists to solve.
ABOUT §04 · the company thesis

Building the trust layer for commerce.

Cleandot is building India's first trust and science-backed commerce platform.

We are starting with food because it is one of the most frequent, personal and information-heavy categories in our lives.

But food is only the beginning.

Our ambition is to build a new layer between people and the products they buy — one that helps them understand what they're choosing, separates substance from marketing, and makes better choices easier.

ABOUT §05 · Why / What / How → hands off to The Clean Standard
The why

When everything became easier to buy, knowing what to buy didn't.

We started Cleandot because we believe people shouldn't need to become experts to make everyday choices they can feel good about.

The what

A place where the checking is already done.

Cleandot brings together products that have been looked at more closely — so you can spend less time questioning what's in your basket and more time simply choosing.

The how

Every product has to earn its place.

We read the label. We check the claims. We taste and use the products ourselves.

And we're building toward a deeper system of sourcing verification and independent lab testing.

Five checks. One dot.
Explore the Clean Standard →
ABOUT §06 · "not a paid placement" held back until it's formal commercial policy
The Cleandot

The Dot is earned.

We didn't want Cleandot to be another platform where products simply get listed. We wanted a way to say:

This product earned its place here.

That's what the Dot represents.

It's not a popularity badge. It's not a marketing claim.

It's our decision that this product belongs on Cleandot.

ABOUT §07 · honest incompleteness as an asset

We're early. And that's intentional.

We're testing our assumptions. Learning from the people who shop with us. Building the Standard. Improving how we evaluate products. And figuring out what it takes to turn a good idea into something people can rely on every week.

Some parts of the system are already here.
Some we're building now.
And some will take investment, infrastructure and time to get right.
We'd rather build it properly than pretend it's finished.
ABOUT §10 · only show the email once the inbox exists

Build something worth trusting.

We're building a company where the details matter. Where asking "are we sure?" is always welcome. Where evidence beats assumption. Where good ideas can come from anywhere. And where the thing we're building should earn people's trust before it asks for it.

If that sounds like the kind of company you'd like to help build, we'd love to hear from you.

What good looks like.

Category by category: the three things worth checking, the red flags worth walking past, and the line we hold for our own shelf.

You don't need to become a food scientist to buy better ghee. You need to know which two or three things decide quality in that one category — and ignore the rest. Each guide gives you exactly that, plus our bar: the standard a product has to meet before we'll stock it.

About Us and Acceptance of Terms

The website [www.cleandot.in] and the mobile application "Cleandot" (together, the "Platform") are owned and operated by Cleandot Enterprises Private Limited ("Cleandot", "We", "Us" or "Our"), a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013 (CIN: U47912HR2026PTC150341), with its registered office at WeWork HQ27, B-660, Sushant Lok Phase I, Sector 27, Galleria DLF-IV, Gurugram, Haryana – 122009, India. Cleandot operates a curated, ingredient-verified grocery and consumer-products platform, currently piloting by invitation in select pincodes of Gurugram, Haryana.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern Your access to and use of the Platform, including browsing, registering an account, placing orders, and availing any services made available through it (collectively, the "Services"). Please read these Terms carefully, together with Our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein or posted on the Platform from time to time (together, "Other Terms"), before using the Platform.

By accessing, downloading, registering on, or otherwise using the Platform, You confirm that You have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and the Other Terms, and that they constitute a legally binding agreement between You and Cleandot. If You do not agree with these Terms, You must not access or use the Platform, and We request that You uninstall the App.

We may modify, amend or update these Terms at any time, at Our sole discretion, to reflect changes in Our Services, business practices, or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Platform following any such change constitutes Your acceptance of the revised Terms. If the revised Terms are not acceptable to You, You should discontinue using the Platform.

02

How Cleandot Works

Cleandot is a curated marketplace for clean-label grocery and consumer products. Unlike a general-purpose grocery app, every product listed on the Platform is assessed against Our internal ingredient and quality standard before it is made available for order. We do not claim that any Product is certified by, or independently verified through, a government or third-party laboratory unless this is expressly stated against that Product's listing.

Orders placed on the Platform are fulfilled through Our sourcing and fulfilment network, which may include Our own "Quality Studio" facilities and trusted retail and supply partners. Products may be quality-checked and repacked at a Quality Studio prior to dispatch. Delivery is carried out by Cleandot's delivery personnel or by third-party delivery service providers engaged by Us.

Cleandot is currently operating as an invite-only pilot (the "Founding Circle") in select pincodes of Gurugram, Haryana, and Our Services, coverage area, catalogue and fulfilment model may change, expand or be discontinued at Our sole discretion as the Platform develops, without this being treated as a change to these Terms requiring separate notice beyond what is provided in Section 1.

03

Eligibility and Founding Circle Membership

The Platform and Services are not available to: (i) persons under 18 years of age; (ii) undischarged insolvents; or (iii) persons otherwise incompetent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. By using the Platform, You represent that You are of legal age and competent to enter into a binding contract, and that You have not previously been suspended or removed from the Platform.

Access to Cleandot during the pilot phase is by invitation only, as part of the Founding Circle.

We reserve the sole discretion to determine the number of Founding Circle memberships available, whom to invite, and when to open or close registrations. An invitation is personal to the invitee and may not be sold, transferred, or shared.

We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or revoke Founding Circle membership at Our discretion, including where We believe the eligibility conditions above are not met.

To use the Services, You must register and create an account on the Platform ("Account") by providing information such as Your name, mobile number, email address, delivery address, and, where relevant, payment details. You are solely responsible for ensuring that Your Account information is complete, accurate and kept up to date.

If any information You provide is found to be untrue, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, We reserve the right to suspend or refuse access to the Services. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of Your Account credentials and for all activity that occurs under Your Account. We disclaim liability for any loss arising from unauthorised access to Your Account, except to the extent caused by Our own gross negligence or wilful default.

You agree to notify Us promptly at Our grievance contact (Section 14) if You become aware of any unauthorised use of Your Account.

05

Clean Credits

On successful registration, eligible Founding Circle members receive a welcome balance of Clean Credits, and thereafter earn Clean Credits back on qualifying orders, in each case at the rate and subject to the conditions displayed on the Platform at the relevant time. Clean Credits are a promotional and loyalty benefit, not currency, cash, or a deposit, and have no monetary redemption value outside the Platform.

Clean Credits: (a) may be used only to offset the price of Products on the Platform, subject to any minimum order value or category exclusions We may specify; (b) are non-transferable and may not be sold, gifted, or exchanged for cash; (c) may expire after a period We notify on the Platform; and (d) may be forfeited, in whole or part, if Your Account is suspended or terminated for breach of these Terms, or upon closure of Your Account.

We may modify the Clean Credits program, including accrual rates, usage conditions, and expiry, at Our discretion, with such changes taking effect on posting to the Platform.

06

Orders, Pricing and Payment

All prices displayed on the Platform are in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We make reasonable efforts to display accurate pricing, but errors may occur; where a Product is listed at an incorrect price due to a technical or typographical error, We reserve the right to cancel the affected order and refund any amount paid.

Applicable charges, including delivery fees, packaging or handling charges, small-cart fees, or surge/peak-time charges, will be shown at checkout before You confirm payment.

Placing an order constitutes an offer by You to purchase the Products at the displayed price and applicable charges, which We may accept or decline at Our discretion (for example, on grounds of stock unavailability or serviceability).

Payments on the Platform are processed through third-party payment gateways and payment aggregators. We do not store Your full card details. By making a payment, You agree to comply with the terms and conditions of the relevant payment service provider.

We are not liable for failed or declined transactions arising from causes outside Our reasonable control, including insufficient funds, incorrect payment details, or technical failures at the payment gateway.

07

Delivery

Delivery is currently available only within the serviceable pincodes shown on the Platform. Estimated delivery times shown at checkout are indicative and may vary due to weather, traffic, demand, courier availability, or other circumstances beyond Our reasonable control.

It is Your responsibility to provide a complete and accurate delivery address and to be reasonably available to receive the order. We are not liable for non-delivery or delay caused by an incorrect or incomplete address, or Your unavailability at the time of delivery. If You ask that an order be left unattended, You release Us from liability for loss, damage, tampering, or spoilage of the order thereafter.

Where You have opted for Cash on Delivery, We (or Our delivery partner) may decline to hand over the order if full payment is not made at the time of delivery, in which case the order will be treated as cancelled and any applicable delivery attempt charges may still be payable by You.

08

Our Quality Verification Standard

Products listed on the Platform are screened against Our internal ingredient-labelling standard, under which each product is assessed as PASS, FAIL, or HOLD based on its declared ingredients and available labelling information, benchmarked against applicable Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) requirements. Where Our standard is stricter than the applicable legal floor, this reflects a policy choice by Us and not a claim that products failing to meet it are unlawful.

Our standard is a labelling-based screening tool, not an independent laboratory certification, and does not test for contaminants, adulteration, or manufacturing defects unless expressly stated on a specific Product's listing. You should still read the physical product label for ingredients, allergens, nutritional information, batch and expiry details before consumption, particularly if You have any allergy, intolerance, or medical condition.

If a Product's physical packaging differs from what is shown on the Platform, the physical packaging shall prevail.

We do not guarantee that every Product will be free from defects, and disclaim liability for manufacturing or quality issues to the extent they arise from the manufacturer, brand owner, or importer rather than from Our own acts. Nothing in this Section limits Your rights under Section 9 (Returns, Cancellations and Refunds).

09

Returns, Cancellations and Refunds

You may seek a return or replacement where: the wrong item was delivered, the item is damaged, or the item is spoiled or deteriorated at the time of delivery. Requests must be raised on the Platform with supporting evidence (such as photographs) within the return window below, or by contacting Our customer support. Except as set out here, Products are not eligible for return once delivered, including for reasons of personal preference.

CategoryReturn window from delivery
Fruits & vegetables (cut)24 hours
Fruits & vegetables (other), dairy, bakery48 hours
Packaged groceries, food, health & supplements72 hours

All return and refund requests are subject to verification, and We may decline requests that are incomplete, unverifiable, or indicate misuse of the return process. We may limit or suspend return privileges for Accounts showing a pattern of excessive or fraudulent claims.

You may cancel an order without charge at any time before We accept it; orders cannot be cancelled once accepted, except where We cancel or partially cancel an order due to stock unavailability, serviceability issues, or suspected fraud, in which case any amount paid will be refunded. Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days of verification, credited to the original payment method (or, for Cash on Delivery orders, by way of Clean Credits or another mutually agreed method), and may take additional time to reflect depending on Your bank or payment provider.

13

Indemnification, Suspension and Termination

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cleandot, its officers, directors, employees, and partners from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your breach of these Terms, Your misuse of the Platform, or Your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate Your Account, without prior notice, if We reasonably believe You have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct (including misuse of the returns process), or acted in a manner that harms Cleandot, other Users, or Our Service partners. You may close Your Account at any time by contacting Us; any accumulated Clean Credits may be forfeited on closure, as described in Section 5.

Termination does not affect any obligation that accrued, or amount that became payable, before the date of termination.
